Ribbon Punch Pilgrim Turkey

Here is my Thanksgiving Pilgrim Turkey that I made out of punches and ribbon! I used the Deck the Halls DSP for the background and the photo corners punch for the corners.

Here is how I did it:
I used the wide oval punch and put it back in the punch to make it slimmer. Then I just cut the wedge out for the collar.

I started with another wide oval punch put of Crumb Cake and used Snail and 2" loops of ribbon for the feathers. The first row went on the bottom.

Then I added some green and then some more brown.

The feet are using the Modern label punch and then I just cut the legs freehand from that.

The head is the 1 1/4" circle, the hat brim is the large oval and the wings are the small oval punch. I used red ribbon for the gobble on the nose and used a candle to melt and shape it. The nose is from the 5-Petal flower punch. The top of the hat and buckle are just cut freehand.

Crediting a fellow Demo

I just wanted to give credit to a fellow Demonstrator Amanda Coughlin. When I first started out looking at blogs and started my site I did not know that I was supposed to give credit or provide links to projects that inspired me to do another project. Now that I have been doing this for awhile I am always very careful to document where I got ideas from and give proper credit. My tackle box project is very similar to Amanda's project so I wanted to provide This Link to her great tackle box project!

Tool Box Gift Card Holder

Here is my tool box gift card holder! This is the perfect way to gift a gift card to the man or fix-it person in your life! You can just use it as a gift box or you can use it as an ornament and hang it on the tree with the gift card inside! You can also change the colors and make it into a fishing box or make the flower version for a more feminine gift.
The box measures approximately 3 ½” tall x 4” wide by 1” deep.

This gift card holder would also be great to combine with my Tool box card

or punch art tool card!

Hope you have fun with it!

Another Great Blog!

So I have stumbled across another blog that I think is exceptional. Is is by Teneale Williams and I am truly inspired by her cards and her color combos as well as her beautiful bows! This card is inspired by a combination of a bunch of her cards. Thanks Teneale!

I used the Top Note for the bottom half of the card and I used the french Foliage stamp set for the leaves and background text. I used Crystal Effects over the leaves and pearl halves for the bottom of the card.

Here is how I made my bow:
I took a piece of ribbon and made a loop that overlaps in the center.

I cut another strip of ribbon and put it in the back. I used twine to tie around the center and keep it together. The twine goes through the Deck the Hall big button on the front to keep it on and then I cut the ends of the brown ribbon at an angle.

Gift for School Nurse

Align CenterHere is the gift that I made for Ashley's school nurse. This woman is absolutely amazing and I honestly don't know how I would manage Ashley's diabetes without her. If any of you know somewhere you can nominate a school nurse or teacher for any awards let me know! She's that great.

The quotation that I found is:
When life gives you a hundred reasons to cry,
Show life that you have a thousand reasons to smile.

and I added at the end:
You are one of my reasons to smile. Thank you.

Then I used pictures from my husband and my anniversary trip hiking in the high peaks in the Adirondack Mountains and I just changed the color of them to match the brown ink I sponged on the quote.
Here is the card that I made to go with it.
I love the All in the Family stamp set and yes, I have all of the accessory sets also!

Dryer Sheet Snowman

After making my Leaf Card using the dryer sheets I just had to try a snowman. You can see how I did this with the dryer sheets HERE!
The dryer sheets give it the nicest texture! I used black brads for the eyes, mouth and buttons and I used the Modern Label punch cut in half for the brim of the hat. I sponged the edges of the snow with Sahara Sand ink to give it some shadows. The arms are cut from the new die cut strip of snowflakes in the Holiday Mini, Northern Frost.
